[Rach] The last few weeks have been super busy so it's taken me a while to catch up with uploading photos and writing the blog... anyway...
The week in Fowey was fantastic - not exactly relaxing, but great fun and definitely refreshing to be outside and free from the normal routine! We had plenty of changes in weather to keep us on our toes.. not to mention the wild swimming, running, fishing, bbqs, hula-hooping etc which kept us well entertained!
I managed to run a record 34.6 miles that week.. including my longest run EVER at 16 miles... a circular route from the campsite via Fowey to Lostwithiel and back. It was hot and hilly (but beautiful scenery), and I didn't know how far it was until I finished - no internet access means no 'pre-mapped routes' - so I just guessed and the GPS tracked my distance as I ran!
The following week however, was not such a successful running week. Lots of running + lots of drinking (of the fun variety) = serious dehydration and exhaustion... but it was a lesson well learnt and after a few painful runs and a couple of extra days rest and I was back on track.
P.S. That's the fishing trip in the photo - turns out there's nothing better than sitting on a boat in the sunshine catching fish after a long run!
