Half marathon recovery...

[Rach] The recovery from the Bristol Half has been slow.. and relatively painful... 5 days of no running, a seriously hectic week at work with a night of high heels thrown in, meant my legs were more than a little worse for wear as I stepped out for a run the Saturday after. I managed a meagre 4 miles before I gave up. The Sunday showed a slight improvement in mileage (new 12 mile route round Bristol including Blaise Castle) but no improvement in pain!

However, with last week spent building up the miles, the legs have now recovered and Leroy and I ran a very scenic off-road 15 miler from the centre of Bristol out to Yate (not a place I'd recommend visiting) along the Frome Valley Walkway on Saturday, making the most of the recent sunshine!

For the next 4 weeks it's about fitting in as many miles as possible (30+ per week) and long long long weekend runs.. 18 miles this Saturday...

We also still have a LONG way to go on the sponsorship so please forward this email to all your friends and ask them nicely if they'd like to sponsor me and/or sign up to the blog for more exciting installments!

Only 6 weeks to go!!!
